Hands

Hands tell a lot about a person that you may not otherwise know. Me? I'm girly. I love sparkly stuff.

If it glitters, I want to wear it.

You'd never be able to tell this by looking at me, just look at my hands.

Memories

I love digital pictures for being able to go back and see how tiny Carley was. This was mothers day, 2008. Carley and her cousin Lena had matching outfits.

Trees

This was taken one of our snowy days this winter. As plain as it is, with no real centralized subject, I feel taken back to this day.

Dying Eggs

When pouring the vinegar into the cups Carley said "Grandma, this is stinky, you need to clean it."

Coloring eggs

The fun thing about Easter...coloring the eggs.

Editors note (or note from Jen, cause I'm the editor and stuff): for the first time in this project 365, I forgot to post. I got busy on Saturday and it just slipped my mind.

Mischief Managed

I got this bracelet in Etsy, one of my favorite sayings in the Harry Potter universe..."I solemnly swear that I am up to no good".

Carley

My favorite subject. Well, my only one really. I don't get out a lot for portrait photography and frankly Carley won't sit still so all photos are if the candid variety.

She loves to try on my glasses. When we wake up together she wants to be the one to hand them to me.

It's times like this I see a glimmer of me in there, but only a glimmer and only for a moment.

I am beautiful

Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Sometimes you have to look beyond the outside.

I am not beautiful on the outside. I am not always beautiful on the inside. I do try. But sometimes I believe what others say about me.

I need to believe it. I am beautiful.

I am beautiful.

I am beautiful.

I drive by this and never noticed it was in the shape of a heart until I saw some tourists snapping a picture in front of it.

Rainbows

I try like crazy to see the good in life, people and situations. Love the journey, it's not just about the destination.

And since this IS a photo blog, I did take this photo. It is a paper cube on my desk.

Circus

I love the circus you find in stories and movies. The bearded lady, the half boy half wolf freak. I would have gone to one of those.

I love this picture because it takes you back to that circus with the lighted signs and bearded lady.

Would you have guessed this was inside the Seattle Center?

Abstract

I don't really get abstract photography. I've tried, but really I don't get it. It seems like a cop out....take a picture of shapes. Whatever. This is my attempt. It is what it is.

Haircut

I treated myself to a new 'do today and Carley and Chris stopped by to watch. Carley was fascinated. She is so girly and seeing me get my hair done made her want to get her own done.

So, she got an appointment and had her hair washed and conditioned like a big girl. She even told the hairdresser when the water was too cold.

She sat down and got a haircut into the cutest little bob. She looks so grown up.

Canada

Took a trip to Canada and I haven't been since August and I forget how pretty it is, even as you get close to the city.

Springtime

This is one of my favorite things to photograph. Every spring, when the blooms fall, this part of the public library is a gorgeous pink scene. It's beautiful.

Museum

I am not normally an "architecture" kind of girl. Buildings are buildings but this is one building I think is beautiful. Once City Hall, now a museum. I wonder about the early days of Bellingham and the offices that were located in here.

Then when I was a kid growing up, class field trips always included once a year to the museum, the second floor filled with stuffed birds (I know you remember those birds!) and old pictures of loggers and their equipment.

And now, I work just down the street. I haven't been to the museum in awhile. Maybe I'll wander in there with Carley and check out those stuffed birds.

Rainy Days

We have a lot of rainy days around here. You can either hide from it or embrace it. My daughter and I, for the most part, embrace it. You can only stay inside for so long. So, Sunday, Carley an I headed out to the free zoo - the pet store! There's cats, fish, birds, turtles, hamsters and occasionally a dog. We have a great time at the pet store, and all for the price of gas to get there.

Strange request

A woman by the name of Amanda contacted me. She found this blog and a picture in February of my roaming gnome.

This little guy serves as a trophy for an office Amazing Race pool. Amanda contacted me to borrow our little guy to be a guest in her wedding reception. The members were happy to loan him out. He will get to travel to Chicago and take part in Amanda's special day.

Bon Voyage!
